Chicago To Cincinnati!

Garage Headquarters: Chicago, IL

Driver: Neville

Mechanics: Tim Wood, Kenneth Morrison, Quentin Arnold, Michelle "Nat" Ward

Nuts and Bolts:

Neville -- who can’t seem to remember his last name -- claims to have founded a renegade motorcycle gang known as the Pilsen Diablos in Chicago. Of course, this is also the guy who (a) dressed as a chicken and flew a homemade aircraft into Monroe Harbor during Red Bull Flugtag Chicago 2003; (b) predicts victory for his current team based on the “redundant logistics” employed while engineering the Chicago to Cincinnati team racer; and (c) claims to have met his teammates “in 1999 as a result of a multi-car highway collision involving a seafood cannery truck.” Suffice to say that Neville possesses a knack for the madcap. The self-described “gadgeteer” plans to fully exhibit this flair for the Mount Adams crowd.

“The Chicago to Cincinnati rocket ship racer,” Neville explains, “was conceived as a life-size vintage Japanese tin toy rocket from the 1950s.” Made of wood and metal, the rocket ship will naturally prepare for lift-off in a vertical position. Neville’s mechanics will then lower the racer into a horizontal stance and assist with blast-off. If this innovative presentation fails to persuade the crowd to vote Chicago to Cincinnati for the People’s Choice Award, Neville has crafted an ingenious back-up plan, consisting of “some combination of money, beer or sex.”
