First Step - select a team:

The Cincinnati 3-Way

Garage Headquarters: Cincinnati, OH

Driver: Jared McFaddin

Mechanics: Laura Martin, John Brazina, Michael Moore, Mel McVay

Nuts and Bolts:

Three-ways always end up getting messy. This sad fact of life isn’t lost on team captain Laura Martin. Laura recognizes that when her team’s “steamy weenies heat it up with some slippery noodles,” spectators at Red Bull Soapbox Cincinnati 2008 “may get hot-sauced.” Despite the possibility of accidental spillage, the team continues to design hot-dog costumes, to be worn by the mechanics in charge of pushing a plateful of spaghetti, meat sauce and cheese down Mount Adams. Driver Jared McFaddin will steer the heaping mound of epicurean delight through one tight turn after another until he hits the bottom -- all while paradoxically avoiding a roll in the hay. Having climbed Mt. McKinley and three other mountains that exceed 14,000 feet, Jared possesses enough stamina to finish the job, but is his ride built for speed?

The team’s fanciful racer will surely do justice to one of the Queen City’s most beloved culinary staples. Still, Laura and her squad aren’t taking anything for granted in their pursuit of the People’s Choice Award. Laura thinks that the team’s “really ridiculous costumes” will endear them to the crowd, and that’s not even taking into account the Cincinnati 3-Way’s sex appeal. Mechanic Mel McVay alone, Laura tells us, once caused a car accident while innocently jogging down the sidewalk.
