First Step - select a team:

Emage Network

Garage Headquarters: Denver, CO

Driver: Adam "Bucky" Scharger

Mechanics: Will Frazier, Sean Robinson, Branden Peak

Nuts and Bolts:

“Our team motto is ‘Show up, Blow up!’ – and it applies to just about everything we do,” says Denver’s Sean Robinson. Of course, Sean is exaggerating. He and his teammates Will Frazier, Branden Peak, and Adam “Bucky” Schlanger hardly ever blow anything up when they’re on the job at Emage Network, an online skate, snow, and lifestyle company. But away from the office, they’re generally balls to the wall.

This is one group that won’t waste time overthinking things. Why, the teammates reason, should they spend many months and a boatload of cash engineering something that they’re likely to crash anyway? “We’re going to build a heap the day before the race and mash it down the hill,” Sean states with a shrug. “The inspiration for our racer was the ‘68 El Camino, and it will be made out of junk…just like the original.” OK, so clearly it’s a good thing this race isn’t being held in Detroit; but even in the relaxed atmosphere of the Rockies, can a team that refuses to pander to the judges or the spectators really stand a chance? “I think we’ll win the crowd over with our reckless abandonment. As for putting in a winning time, it all depends on how hard our driver Bucky is mashing that day,” Sean notes. Almost as an afterthought, he adds, “Keep your fingers and toes crossed.”
