The staff of Big Shark Bicycle Company, located in the St. Louis Loop, includes folks who have competed regionally, nationally, and internationally in almost all disciplines of cycling – from BMX to cyclocross. But what will happen when their pedals are taken away and they're left to the whims of gravity alone? Come to Forest Park on October 28 to find out, as Team Shark Attack steers a predatory soapbox car against more than 30 other contenders.

This crew is accustomed to winning: besides their successes riding bikes, they've been very successful at selling and servicing them. Big Shark has twice been honored with the Bicycle Retailers Top 100 Award as one of the top 100 bicycle dealers in the United States. And despite the formidable appearance of their soapbox racer, the teammates are known throughout the St. Louis area for their friendly community spirit. Big Shark sponsors USCF and NORBA races, assists in organizing charity rides, and offers classes to help cyclists make the most of their potential. In other words, these are the people to call for your cycling needs. But don't ask them how to make your soapbox car faster, because when it comes to this competition, you're swimming with sharks.
